Gaza City: Gaza's civil defence agency reported that an Israeli air strike hit a house in Gaza City on Saturday morning, killing 11 members of the Bustan family, including women and children. The strike occurred near the Shujaiya school in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, according to agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal.

"We have recovered the bodies of 11 martyrs, including four children and three women," Bassal said, adding that rescuers are still searching for more missing individuals. The Israeli military has yet to comment on the strike.

Bassal also noted that similar strikes occurred in other parts of the Hamas-controlled territory overnight, with at least 10 additional casualties. Five people were killed in northwestern Gaza City near Dar Al-Arqam school, while three others were killed in the southern Khan Yunis governorate, where many displaced Palestinians have sought refuge.

The ongoing war in Gaza began after Hamas launched a deadly attack on southern Israel on October 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,205 people, mostly civilians, according to Israeli figures. In response, Israel's military campaign has led to the deaths of at least 41,118 people in Gaza, with the UN reporting that most of the casualties have been women and children.
